The Jardins de Lorraine cooperative has a membership of some fifty growers. Cherries are picked in July, mirabelle plums in August and damsons in September. Every year, a hundred tonnes of mirabelle plums are set aside for distillation. The cooperative uses the fruit to make various products e.g. brandy, juice, sparkling fruit drink, cordial, jam etc. It also sells the products direct to the customer.
