Length of the route : 15.1 km Town : Beaulieu-en-Argonne Abbey car park: Exit the village, follow the orange markings. 1. Turn right towards the Calvary. 2. At the Calvary, possibility of going down the stairs that lead to the remains of the Abbey wall (known as the monks' wall)> Then, continue on the Corvée path to the left of the Calvary. 3. Arrived on the white path, follow the forest road on the left for 1.5 km. 4. At the Trois Pins crossroads, continue straight on the Courupt trench. 5. Take the GR14 on the left and follow the Plat du Saule on its crest. 6. At the bottom of the descent, turn left towards the pond Le Prêtre. 7. At the entrance to the dike, follow a path on the right which starts with a small footbridge. 8. Cross the wooden bridge which leads to the dike of the Des busines pond. 9. Cross the white path which leads to Saint-Rouin, passing near the picnic area. 10. When leaving Saint-Rouin, cross the D2 and take a small path on the left which climbs towards the Bremont trench 11. Take the trench on the left. 12. At the bottom of the descent, cross the D2 to climb to épine. 13. Cross the D2b, turn right onto a path that quickly leads to the path, on the left. This one goes up to the hill of Saint-Maxe. 14. Take the path to the right to go back up to Beaulieu-en-Argonne, passing through Mazurie, following the GR14. 15. Go up the stairs on the other side of the road to reach the center of the village. |
